For guidance my Mio M400 has no problems with using Dem files.

That is not exactly true in all cases. It is highly dependent on two things: 1) The hardware device involved 2) The existing sys.txt in the package downloaded--if the settings in sys.txt are wrong for your hardware, neither iGo8 nor Primo will operate correctly.
