The Alpha Rex Lego Robot, like all other Lego Mindstorms robots, is powered by the Lego Mindstorms NXT brick with the 16-bit microprocessor unit. The NXT brick has input port for controlling the Alpha Rex motor and sensors.

By programming the Alpha Rex's NXT brick, you can make the robot perform various types of actions, such as moving in a predetermined direction or picking up objects.
